How Yez3 works

Not just a to-do list and not just an AI chat. A system that takes you from a goal to things actually done — one small step a day.

Your daily plan

Every day counts
MinimumOne small step for your goal

Your Minimum is done. Today counts.Example

Yez3 connects your goal, your daily plan, an AI coach and reminders in one loop. You set one main goal. Each day you plan three levels: a Minimum you'll do no matter what, a realistic 100% day and a Maximum for when you're on fire. Critical tasks come before routine. Close your Minimum and the day is a win.

What is the main goal in Yez3?

You have one big Main goal — lose 10 pounds, save for a down payment, launch your website. It's always at the top of your Today screen, with your progress from 0 to 100%. Your coach uses it to check every task: does this move you toward your goal, or is it just noise?

  • One goal at the top. Easy to remember why you're doing all this.
  • Progress in percent. See how far you've come.
  • A filter for your day. Tasks that move the goal become critical; everything else waits.

What are the three daily plans?

Every day in Yez3 is split into three plans. The plan level isn't about priority — it's about how much you take on today.

Minimum — always required

What you'll do no matter what happens. Tired, sick, raining, snowing — you still do it. Usually one key task that moves your goal, or a tiny dose of a new habit: run 5 minutes, send one message. Often, once you start, you do much more. And if you only do 5 minutes — you've still moved toward your goal. Your Minimum must be closed every day.

100% — a normal day

A full, realistic plan for a normal day. Start it only after your Minimum is closed. Important tasks that move your goal, or a medium dose of a habit: run 20 minutes, send 10 messages. Not required — but should be closed at least 3–4 days a week.

Maximum — your growth zone

If you're on fire, you've closed Minimum and 100%, and you still have time — this is for that. Things that would be great to do today but may need more time or energy than you have. The hardest dose of a habit: run 1 hour, send 50 messages. Not required, but this is where growth happens. Normally closed 1–2 times a week.

Plan What goes in Required? Normal rhythm
Minimum What you'll do no matter what: one key task or a tiny dose of a habit Yes, every day Always
100% A realistic full day, a habit in its working dose No 3–4 days a week
Maximum If you're on fire and have time left, a habit in its hardest dose No 1–2 times a week

In what order?

Minimum first, then 100%, then Maximum. If your 100% or Maximum has tasks but your Minimum is empty, your coach will ask you to set a Minimum first.

What are critical 20% and routine 80% tasks?

Inside every plan, tasks are split by importance — based on the Pareto principle: about 20% of tasks bring about 80% of the results.

Critical 20% Routine 80%
What Tasks that really move you toward your goal — directly or indirectly Everything else that needs doing but doesn't lead to the goal
Examples Call the investor, write the first page, 10-minute walk Grocery shopping, answering emails, cleaning
When First After critical tasks are done
Can be moved? Better not — these are what move you forward Yes — postpone, reschedule or drop if needed

If you only have energy left for one thing, it should be from the critical 20%. Start a routine task while a critical Minimum task is still open, and your coach will remind you of the order.

How is the Today screen organized?

Three plans × two levels of importance = six groups. Plus two more places for tasks that aren't planned yet.

Critical 20% Routine 80%
Minimum 1 2
100% 3 4
Maximum 5 6
  • Unsorted — tasks without a plan yet. Drag them into Minimum, 100% or Maximum and mark them critical or routine.
  • Not today — tasks for another date, or a "someday" list without a date. Send any of them to Today with one tap.
  • Unfinished tasks carry over. Open tasks from past days stay on Today until you do or move them.
  • Done means done. A completed task stays crossed out until the end of the day, then moves to history.
  • Drag and drop. Move tasks between groups with your finger or mouse.

Can the same task be in all three plans?

Yes — and that's the idea. The same intention can sit on three levels with different amounts. Your coach suggests this "ladder" when you start a new habit.

Minimum 100% Maximum
Running 5 minutes 20 minutes 1 hour
Outreach 1 message 10 messages 50 messages
Saving $1 $10 $50
Writing 100 words 500 words A full chapter

Do the Minimum, and the day counts. Feel good? Keep going to 100%. On fire? Go for Maximum.

How do I get everything out of my head?

On the Tasks screen, type or say everything on your mind. Yez3 turns it into separate tasks and puts them in a list — without dates and without plans. Collecting thoughts and planning are two different steps.

  1. Dump. Type or hold the mic and talk. Yez3 creates the tasks.
  2. Sort. Tap "Sort tasks with coach" — your coach helps you pick what goes on today and into which plan.
  3. Do. Start with your critical Minimum.

Voice input works anywhere in the app: hold the mic and speak — your words become a message or a list of tasks.

What does the Yez3 AI coach do?

If a task isn't moving and you keep putting it off, talk it through with your coach. It helps you find the reason: maybe something is in the way, maybe the task just needs to be split into smaller pieces. Whatever isn't working — write to your coach.

Works with your plan

  • Edits your plan in the chat. Creates, moves, closes, skips or deletes tasks — no need to switch screens.
  • Sorts by the system. When you mention something to do, the coach puts it in the right plan and marks it critical or routine. If it's not obvious, it asks.
  • Minimum first. No Minimum? That's the first thing the coach helps fix. Everything in Minimum, or Minimum empty? It explains the system in two or three sentences, using your own tasks.
  • Cuts big things into pieces. If something big hasn't moved for days, the coach suggests putting one piece of it on your Minimum.
  • Celebrates for real. Close your Minimum, and the coach says so first — naming the task and your streak. No "but your 100% is still open".
  • Doesn't push routine. The coach doesn't ask about or suggest routine tasks on its own.

Holds you to your word

  • "Later" gets a time. Say "later" or "tomorrow" about something important, and the coach asks: when exactly, what time, how many minutes?
  • Names the pattern. If the same blocker comes up three or more times, the coach remembers it and talks about it directly.

Writes first

The coach messages you on its own when:

  • a key task is still open near the end of your day;
  • unsorted tasks are piling up;
  • a task has been waiting for more than 5 days.

Remembers you

The Coach memory screen shows what the coach knows about you: long-term goals, recurring blockers, values, what motivates you, how you like to be talked to and its own notes. You can edit or delete anything. The coach can also search your past conversations and daily summaries.

Fits your day

  • Two tones. Tough — asks for specifics and holds you to your word. Gentle — support without pressure. Switch anytime.
  • Your active hours. You set when your day is active. Near the end of it, the coach stops suggesting new tasks for today.
  • Evening review. In the evening the conversation turns to how the day went and what's next for tomorrow.
  • Quiet hours. You choose when the coach may write first (09:00–23:00 by default) and your days off.

Coach: "Draft the website brief" has been waiting for 6 days. What's making it hard?

You: I don't know where to start.

Coach: Then let's start smaller: find 5 websites you like. 15 minutes on tomorrow's Minimum?

You: Ok.

Coach: What time?

You: 9:30.

Coach: Done. It's on tomorrow's Minimum, 9:30 am.

How do streaks work in Yez3?

Close your Minimum, win the day, grow your streak 🔥. Streaks in Yez3 are built to forgive real life — not to make you feel guilty.

Day When Streak
Win Your Minimum has critical tasks, and all of them are closed Grows
Day off A weekday you marked as a day off in Settings Not affected
Neutral No critical tasks in your Minimum Not affected
Miss Critical Minimum tasks were planned, but not all were closed Breaks — unless a freeze covers it

Streak freezes ❄️

  • Earned, not bought. Get one freeze for every 7 counted days with at least 5 wins (so up to two days off are fine).
  • Up to 7 in reserve.
  • Automatic. Miss a day, and a freeze is used for you — the app shows it.
  • All or nothing. If you miss more days than you have freezes, none are used: your reserve stays, and the streak starts again.

Fair rules

  • An open critical Minimum task from a past day also blocks a win until it's done.
  • The score of a past day is fixed — it won't be recalculated later.

Your week at a glance

Color Meaning
🟧 Orange Win
🟩 Green Day off
🟦 Blue Freeze used
⬜ Gray Miss, or the day hasn't come yet

The corner of the screen shows your streak 🔥 and freezes in reserve ❄️. A separate Freezes screen in Settings explains all the rules.

How do reminders and recurring tasks work?

Reminders

  • Your own reminders — at the time and on the weekdays you choose.
  • "Remind me" on any task — at the time you pick.
  • Coach messages — see "Writes first" above.

Recurring tasks

Daily, on chosen weekdays or once a month. When you create one, pick the plan (Minimum, 100% or Maximum), the importance and, if you like, a time. On the right day, the task appears straight in the right group. No plan chosen? It goes to Unsorted. All recurring tasks are listed in their own block at the bottom of the Tasks screen.

What is the focus timer?

Full-screen focus sessions: 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of break, and a long 15-minute break after every four sessions. You start breaks yourself. Link a task to a session if you want — it's optional.

  • Breathing mode for a calm start.
  • Background sounds: rain, forest, ocean, fireplace, crickets, café, ticking clock, white noise.
  • Minimize it and keep using the app.
  • Daily count of focus minutes and sessions.

How do I see my progress?

  • Calendar — your tasks by day.
  • History — charts for the last 6 weeks and 30 days, plus cards for the last 14 days: done, not done, skipped.

How do I start with Yez3?

  1. Take the short quiz. Your answers really matter: the coach uses them to build your first task board and write its first message.
  2. Set your Main goal and first Minimum. Or let the coach suggest them.
  3. Close your Minimum today. That's your first win.
  • No sign-up wall on mobile. Start as a guest right away. Add your email later to keep your progress — the app will suggest it, but not on day one and not pushily.
  • iPhone, Android and Web. The same data everywhere; the web app is at app.yez3.com and requires an account.
  • Works offline on mobile. Create, check off, move and delete tasks without internet — everything syncs later. The coach, voice input and brain dump need a connection.
  • 22 languages.
  • Your data, your control. Delete your account right in Settings. Download all your data from the web app. We don't sell your data and don't show ads.

What does a day with Yez3 look like?

  • 8:00 — Brain dump on the way to work: "call the bank, gym, finish the report, buy a gift for Mom". Four tasks appear in Unsorted.
  • 8:10 — "Sort tasks with coach". The report goes to critical Minimum, the gym to 100%, the bank call and gift to routine.
  • 10:00 — Focus timer, 25 minutes on the report. It keeps going for another hour.
  • 10:45 — Minimum closed. Coach: "Report done — that's day 9 in a row 🔥."
  • 13:00 — Bank call and gift done during lunch.
  • 19:30 — Too tired for the gym. Not required — the day is already a win.
  • 21:30 — Evening review with the coach. The gym goes to tomorrow's Minimum as "20-minute workout".

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to fill all three plans every day?

No. Only the Minimum is required — even one small critical task is enough. Add 100% and Maximum tasks when you have the time and energy. On most days, closing your Minimum and part of your 100% is a great result.

Isn't it cheating to put the same task in all three plans?

No — that's how the system is meant to work. A 5-minute run in Minimum, 20 minutes in 100% and an hour in Maximum are three separate tasks for the same habit. Your coach suggests this ladder itself when you start something new.

What happens if I don't close my Minimum?

The day counts as a miss, unless you have a streak freeze — then it's used automatically and your streak survives. Your coach helps you figure out what got in the way and how to make tomorrow's Minimum easier.

Does a weekend break my streak?

No. Mark any weekdays as days off in Settings, and they never affect your streak. A day without critical tasks in your Minimum is neutral too.

Can I use Yez3 without the AI coach?

Yes. The three plans, critical and routine tasks, recurring tasks, reminders, the focus timer, streaks and history all work on their own. The coach adds help with planning, check-ins and getting unstuck.

Does Yez3 work offline?

On mobile, yes: you can create, check off, move and delete tasks without internet, and everything syncs later. The AI coach, voice input and brain dump need a connection.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone, Android and any browser at app.yez3.com, with the same data everywhere. On mobile you can start as a guest; the web app requires an account. The interface is available in 22 languages.

How do I give feedback?

Open Settings → Feedback. If something doesn't work as expected, if you have an idea, or if you just want to say thanks — write to us. We read every message, reply when it needs a reply and fix bugs as fast as we can.
