The best way to find a hobby isn't to wait for a passion — it's to try a few small, cheap options and see which one you look forward to. This quiz narrows hundreds of options down to three that fit your time, budget and personality, and gives you a 10-minute first step for each so you can start today.
How does the hobby quiz work?
Your answers match you to hobby types — calm, active, creative, learning or social — and filter by time, budget, space and screens. You get three hobbies from different types, so you can compare quite different experiences in a few weeks.
What do I do with my quiz results?
- Pick the first hobby and do its 10-minute step today.
- Give it two weeks — 10 minutes a day, same time.
- Notice what you look forward to, not what you're good at.
- Move to the next hobby if it doesn't click. Quitting a test hobby is part of the process.
- Keep the one that sticks and grow it slowly.
Why try three hobbies instead of one?
Interest usually grows from doing, not from thinking about it. Trying several cheap options quickly gives you real experience to compare. And hobbies are worth the effort: in a study of 93,263 people across 16 countries, Karen Mak, Daisy Fancourt and colleagues (Nature Medicine, 2023) found that older adults with a hobby reported better health, more happiness and higher life satisfaction.
Hobby quiz FAQ
Is the hobby quiz free?
Yes. The quiz is free, takes about two minutes and needs no sign-up or email. Your answers stay in your browser.
How accurate is a hobby quiz?
A quiz can't know what you'll love, but it can narrow the options to ones that fit your time, budget and personality. Treat the results as experiments to try, not a verdict. Two weeks of 10 minutes a day will tell you more than any quiz.
What if none of the results appeal to me?
Retake the quiz with different answers — for example, a different "want more of" — or pick the result that feels least bad and try it for a week anyway. Interest often appears only after starting.
How do I find a hobby when nothing interests me?
Lower the bar: pick something cheap and easy, do it 10 minutes a day for two weeks and see how you feel. If nothing has interested you for weeks along with low mood, consider talking to a doctor, since that can be a sign of exhaustion or depression.
